Who is ArleQuin Art Works ? |
Useful and Pleasurable. Like colors and pencils, animals always had a place in my life. It’s not only a matter of work, animals are real passions turned into a lifestyle. After classical art training, I entered the National School of Decorative Arts (ENSAD) in Paris, where I took a complete art program. Little by little, I leaned toward illustration as the best means of giving painting a utilitarian but friendly dimension. I focused on animal illustration as a way of combining both my passions. However, the multi-subjects and the technological essence from ENSAD deeply influenced my vision of illustration. I decided that my images would suit different purposes, just as a chameleon changes color to blend with its environment. The A.A.W. style... In every picture, I look for tensed movements and intense expressions. That’s why the animals in my paintings are focused on their subject, with few or only suggested background elements. My painting style gives a realistic rendering, but I don’t want my work to look like a photograph. Pictures may be studied from close or far, the global impression is as important to me as the details. Drawings with class... As one reviewer has written, “Béatrice Quinio has 2 passions : animals and drawings. If one asks when it did stars, she would say : “since ever”. A vocation in short. “I am only too pleased to work”, does she confess. But her approach is not egoistic. Béatrice Quinio is glad to share her love of animals. Through her paintings, she tries to give her public a real pleasure. Emotional choice on one hand : “ I could hardly draw something I don’t like. In my opinion, one painting success secret is to love sincerely what you depict.” Aesthetic choice on the other hand :“like most artists, the quest of Beauty motivates me. To me, animals are Goodness and Beauty combined” (...) Beatrice Quinio has the love of accomplished work. She paints what she likes and likes who she paints.” Our Dogs (France) n°202 |
